Laurell Hamilton was born in Saskatchewan, worked and played in Alberta for
many years and retired to Nova Scotia to embark on an artistic journey. Her
creative interests include watercolour, collage, calligraphy and fine art

Laurell brings her unique vision to the creative process, painting dreamy
abstract landscapes and meditative calligraphic forms as well as taking
close-up photos that invite a second look. “If people find personal meaning in my
work, I have succeeded.”

A member of the Sackville Art Association (SAA) since 2004, Laurell was
President until 2021. Since 2013 she has been a partner in the Tidnish Bridge Art
Gallery. She is a member of the Cercle des Artistes Peintres de Shediac (CAPS)
and has exhibited at the SAA Annual Exhibition, Art Zone Gallery, and CAPS. In
2017 she was Featured Artist at the SAA Annual Exhibition showing 33 works in a
range of media. Laurell’s work is held in collections in Canada and the US as well
as in Europe and China. Her work can currently be seen at Maritime Mosaic in
Amherst and at the Tidnish Bridge Art Gallery in the summer.
