Margaret Wiles was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire. On leaving school she spent four years at Leeds College of Art from which she received her National Diploma of Design. She then worked for Leeds City Architects for several years doing architectural renderings before moving to Canada with her family. In St. Johns, NFL she worked for an Architect for two years and then moved to Halifax NS where she worked for Architects and Interior Designers doing renderings and presentation work. 

Then, over several years she taught herself watercolor painting and eventually began to sell her work through various galleries in Halifax. Margaret taught watercolor classes for the Halifax Recreation Department for several years which were well received and she has had her paintings displayed in the Cumberland County Hospital, Bella’s Cafe and The Cumberland County Museum.
